Vaultfy
Platform for tracking cryptocurrency indicators, balances and trades.
Product context
Vaultfy started as an aggregated cryptocurrency indicators dashboard. It later added Binance trading for multiple clients through a single operator.
My role and responsibilities
I was primarily responsible for the backend at Cyber1 Group: first integrating indicator sources, then working on the trading workflow and handling client credentials.
- Integrate indicator APIs and source systems according to dashboard requirements.
- Connect the Binance API to allow an operator to trade for multiple clients.
- Implement controls over the credentials used for these trades.
Main challenges
- Combine indicators from external sources into a view for analysis.
- Add trading for multiple clients to a product that initially focused on indicators.
- Reduce exposure of credentials used by integrations.
Implemented solutions
- I supplied the dashboard with data from indicator APIs and integrated the trading workflow with Binance.
- I encrypted credentials, restricted their use to the server’s IP address and implemented controls preventing application administrators from viewing them directly.
- I integrated AWS Lambda and Secrets Manager into credential use and storage.
Technical decisions and reasoning
- Access controls, IP restrictions and AWS services aim to limit where and by whom credentials can be used. They reduce exposure without eliminating all risks.
Results
- The dashboard brought indicators from multiple sources into a single view.
- The product gained a trading workflow for multiple clients, with specific controls over credential use.
